On 30 August 1835 the small topsail schooner Enterprize landed Melbourne's first European settlers on the banks of the Yarra River close to where Flinders and William Streets now meet. To commemorate the founding of Melbourne, the Enterprize Ship Trust, in conjunction with Vic Roads, have made available the 'Melbourne City of Enterprize' number plate.
