Day Excursions

Alternating History and Sailing Program

Our most popular excursion, this program involves both an interactive history lesson involving discussion, playing out scenes, and learning about Melbournes early history, and sailing on the ship, where the students help hoist sails, steer the ship, and cement the information about our first Melbournians.

These sessions provide both a basis for classroom discussion, written work,  and further exploration, and a fun day out for students and teachers alike.

Our Alternating History and Sailing program typically runs for two hours, carrying up to 80 students in two groups.

The program can be scaled up or down to suit your schools needs, including sail-only (with no history lesson) and pierside inspection (in place of sail).

Overnight and Longer Camps

Alternating History and Sailing Program

Enterprize runs overnight and multi-day school camp voyages both within Port Phillip Bay and outside the heads in Bass Strait.

These longer sails give students valuable opportunities to step outside of their box, and take a leap towards more self-confidence and leadership.

Students will be taught by the crew and Master how to set, handle, douse and furl the sails, and basic navigation, all the while developing team skills and closer bonds to their shipmates.

Enterprize can carry up to 8 students with 1 accompanying teacher for these voyages.

Have a look at our Sail Training Video on YouTube, and contact the office for more details.
